Coach John Wooden said it best, “If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”
Although certificate of insurance tracking may have been the furthest thing from his mind, he unknowingly summed it up.
Given that on average 7 out of 10 of requested certificates come back non-compliant the first time, companies find themselves challenged with finding more time in a day or exposing themselves to unnecessary risk. It’s simply unacceptable from a business perspective.
Having worked in property management and residential construction, I recognized this was an opportunity to develop a tool that would help simplify the process. In 2009 I co-founded myCOI after developing the software that our programs built upon.
Today, myCOI continues to provide the technology and support that enables companies to increase their compliance rates while spending less time chasing vendors, tenants, and subcontractors for their certs.
Background:
As CEO and Co-founder of a fast-paced technology firm, I am responsible for overseeing the day to day operations while advancing the company forward by; • Increasing industry awareness of the benefits of automating COI tracking • Supporting the continual evolution of software features that enhance our user experience • Negotiating strategic partnerships enabling integration with accounting and project management systems • Supporting my team of insurance professionals with resources to help maintain 97% client retention • Collaborating with agency partners to assist in a competitive marketplace • Developing useful resources for companies wanting to evaluate their current process • Promoting best practices through social media outlets, webinars, and speaking engagements
