Biography

I'm an educator, innovator, and advocate for student-centered learning — named the 2024 California Teacher of the Year and the 2025 Delphi Award winner at National University.

As a high school English teacher, instructional coach, and university professor, I bridge the gap between K–12 and higher ed. My passion lies in transforming classrooms through relationship-driven rigor, purposeful use of AI, and equity-focused instructional design. I believe technology should amplify humanity, not replace it — and that the best teaching still feels like mentorship, not management.

I’ve developed district-wide trainings on AI in education, created AI-powered writing tutors, and led national conversations on the future of teaching. Whether I’m coaching teachers, guiding student inquiry, or presenting at conferences, my mission is to inspire and empower my students, of all ages, to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and ethical leaders.

I value innovation, creativity, and excellence in education, and I am always eager to learn new skills and methods to enhance my teaching practice.
